Hero Privacy Pen: How does it work?
The Hero Privacy Pen has three primary modes: Signal Detection, Infrared Detection, and Burglar Alarm.
Turning on the Privacy Pen will start in Signal Detection mode. Move the Pen around with the display end facing outwards. If any Bluetooth or wireless signal is detected, the display will flash. The sound will increase as the Pen gets closer to the signal source. You can also press the settings button to switch it to vibrate mode.
Press the Power Button briefly to enter Infrared Mode. The display will show an indicator, and the Privacy Pen's Infrared Light will turn on. In this mode, you can scan a darkened room with the Infrared Light pointing outwards, watching for reflected lights that usually bounce back from camera lenses or surveillance equipment.
With the Hero Privacy Pen in the initial Signal Detection Mode, press the Power Button twice to enter Burglar Alarm Mode. The display will show a 30-second countdown to 0. Hang the Privacy Pen in your preferred spot. Once it reaches 0, the display
will go black. If the device detects any movement, the alarm will be triggered.
